After a 5-year absence, the world rallycross championship returns to Mettet!
The circuit Jules Tacheny already hosted the WRX in the past, between 2014 and 2018. On the attractive and twisty Djobin circuit, several pages of the world championship were written during that period. Loeb, Solberg, Kristoffersson and even the late Ken Block, the most prestigious drivers in the RX queen category, surprised and performed fantastically at Mettet. A selection of today’s best drivers will come to battle for victory during a race weekend that already promises to be blood-curdling.
With its challenging and beloved track, the circuit in the province of Namur has always offered an exceptional spectacle to its public, which is ideally placed, with a perfect view of the entire circuit. Like its British counterparts at Lydden Hill or the German circuit of Estering, Jules Tacheny’s circuit helped establish the intense and unique sport of rallycross. Successive turns on gravel ánd asphalt provide ideal conditions for hellish sprints with lots of contact and spectacle.
The return of the WRX to Mettet is going to spark! Indeed, the world championship is looking to the future and reserving its top competition for 100% electric cars. With power outputs of 500 kW, the equivalent of 680 hp, 0 to 100 is achieved in 1.8 seconds. Dazzling spectacle guaranteed!
