I MAKE
WHAT I LOVE

"‘S72 Gin has an original taste that is proving popular with gin lovers around the world."

In the extremely competitive gin industry, it is a difficult proposition to stand out from the crowd, but after many months of hard work perfecting the blend, S72 Gin was finally ready.

After many months of hard work...THE STORY

After a chance encounter with Belgian mountainbike world champion Filip Meirhaeghe on the ‘Eternal Fame’ TV show in 2012, Everts love for gin really blossomed and his since taken him on a five year journey to create a product worthy of his name.

Educating himself on the entire industry through reading books and tasting different flavours, it was another coincidental between his father and a local gin distillery that provided Everts with the spark to start creating the product himself.

As big fans of the star motocross rider, the distillery explained all the processes necessary to bring S72 Gin to the marketplace and then helped with all the sampling and testing, so that Everts could create the unique flavour he was looking for.

In the extremely competitive gin industry, it is a difficult proposition to stand out from the crowd, but after many months of hard work perfecting the blend, S72 Gin was finally ready.

And … about the violet flavour of the gin? Stefan discovered this by coincidence during a visit to a former sponsor whilst they were designing a motorcycle. He was offered a violet candy and Stefan was so captivated by the taste, that immediately after his homecoming, he asked the distillery to incorporate this flavor into his own gin.

Discover the botanicals.the 'Legend' Gin

The S72 ‘Legend’ Gin has been an established value in the world of gin since 2017. Six years later, the delicacy that sprang from the brain of ten-time world motocross champion Stefan Everts gets a completely new look: a bottle in the shape of the number 1.

The flavor – violet – has long been in the taste. But the eye also wants something. Stefan Everts had been toying with the idea of a new, striking bottle for some time. The ball really started rolling when he sat down with designer Troy Lee. The ten-time world champion, who had already worked with the designer in his career as a motocross racer, asked the American to design a new bottle. Troy Lee came up with the idea of a bottle in the shape of the number 1. A reference to the many first places that Stefan Everts achieved in his richly filled career (ten world titles, 101 GP victories).

“I am very satisfied with the end result,” says Stefan Everts. “This bottle really catches the eye. And I also like the link with my victories. In my career I always wanted to be the best. With my gin too.”

Shape of the bottle:

    • The nr 1. Stefan is and still remains the nr 1 in motocross. Even though they came close, he is still the record holder with 10 world titles.
    • The laurel crown surrounding the logo. A reference to the many victories Stefan was allowed to achieve in his career.
    • The crown with the number 72. The well-known logo of S72 Gin. 72 referring to Stefan’s year of birth and the race number he drove in the last years of his career. This number may even only be pinned by Stefan’s descendants.
    • At the bottom of the 10 stars. The 10 world titles won
    • Quote on the right side. Stefan’s written life motto. A thinker. It’s about always looking ahead and no obstacle is too big to overcome. Even a chameleon can surf the waves of the sea, if only he has enough willpower.
    • Signature of the bottle’s initial designer, Troy Lee on the left side.
    • At the back. Stefan’s profile with gold crown. After winning his 10th world title and also the year of his retirement, he was celebrated and put a golden crown on his head.
    • On the back you will also find the botanicals of the S72 Gin and a ‘taste’ note that the jury members of an international competition wrote about this gin.
    • Finally at the top of the stop. A replica of the former fuel cap.

A new bottle with a renewed taste. This new Number 1 bottle is filled with the renewed S72 Gin 'the Legend'. The base of violet, of course, remained the same. We now use water from another region and grain instead of potato alcohol. We also removed the Chinese tea from the recipe. This gives the S72 Gin 'the Legend' a more refined taste.
